Anonymous writes "SIGHS of disappointment swept through the ranks of the Volkswagen faithful last spring when the company announced that it would not put its Microbus design study from the 2001 Detroit auto show into production.
Like the New Beetle, which sprang almost directly from an earlier show vehicle, the Microbus prototype borrowed freely from the design of a cult favorite. But as it faced financial problems, VW management decided that a revival of the seminal minivan, a symbol of the freewheeling 60's to many who are now in their 60's, would have limited appeal outside the United States.

Check out this website about the new VW T5 Caravelle. It is the replacement for the Eurovan, however I don't think we will be seeing it here in the US any time soon. The site is in German but you can translate it with bablefish.
